CAD Systems
In the product development area our basis CAD/CAM systems are CATIA and customer dependent Pro/ENGINEER. At MAHLE, CATIA V5 is in the introduction phase. Since different specific aereas and product lines have different stages of implementing CATIA V5, customers are advised to contact their project partners directly and coordinate the usage of the right release and service pack to avoid compatibility issues.

CAD Data Exchange
Data exchange with external partners usually takes place by means of remote data transmission according to VDA recommendation. MAHLE additionally implements the OpenDXM data management system. Data is transmitted via OFTP (Odettte File Transfer Protocol)/ISDN or ENX (European Network Exchange).

CAD Data Management
MAHLE uses SAP for the management of CAD data. Direct integration of CENIT and .riess are used respectively for the interface of CATIA V5 and Pro/ENGINEER with SAP.
