Collecting Vehicle Data

Collecting data during vehicle operation and transmitting it via GPRS
DataLogiq® is a system that efficiently collects and analyses vehicle data. The data logger is configured to handle all testing/vehicle variations, either by MAHLE, or optionally by the user with the DataLogiq® Graphical Tool (DGT). The data can be collected simultaneously, either in a continuous data stream at defined sampling rates, or initiated by multiple complex triggers. The data can be stored locally as the raw data stream, or can be formatted during the collection (e.g. classifications, histograms, etc.) The data logger comprises a Single Board Computer (SBC), which is based on the Windows CE operating system, and a DataWorks® Vehicle Communication Interface. DataLogiq® can be configured so that it draws no electricity from the vehicle battery in the standby mode.

Recorded data may be transmitted directly to a server using an integrated GPRS mobile radio card (PCMCIA) or a WLAN (PCMCIA). Server maintenance can be carried out optionally by MAHLE, and the data can be processed and customized individually for each customer. The data can be retrieved online in configurable reports and alerts using ReportLogiq®. Remote updates of the data logger can be optionally erformed using AdminLogiq®.

Analog and digital data
The data logger can collect and synchronize analog and digital signals from peripheral devices along with the protocol data from the vehicle’s communication bus. DataLogiq® generally starts the data collection process with a "Key On" signal, however it is also possible to trigger this through an external signal (for example a door opening). The DataLogiq® system can be optionally equipped with a display monitor interface between the PC or handheld device and the data logger. The stored data and configurations of the data logger can be accessed or updated using a USB interface on the PC or optionally a Bluetooth connection. In conjunction with AdminLogiq®, detailed information of the individual data loggers in the field can be retrieved and updated online.

Web-based worldwide access
The DataLogiq® system is optimally used in conjunction with the web-based tools ReportLogiq® and AdminLogiq®. These additional tools offer the user remote worldwide access to the data for evaluation, and additionally enable online update of the data loggers in use.
