MAHLE acquires automotive business of KTM-Kühler

Stuttgart, October 26, 2009 – On October 23rd, 2009, the MAHLE Group signed an agreement with KTM-Kühler GmbH about the acquisition of the automotive business at the location of Mattighofen/Austria
With this acquisition, MAHLE enlarges its commitment in the area of thermomanagement and completes its global activities for oil/water heat exchangers for engine and transmission applications and oil filter modules. CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of combustion engines can be optimized by intelligent thermomanagement. Further application opportunities are in the area of alternative propulsion systems. The acquisition is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities. The closing is scheduled for the end of December 2009.
The existing unit producing oil/water heat exchangers with 120 employees at the Mattighofen location actually generates sales of approximately EUR 15 million. Production is planned to continue at the existing location.
