The MAHLE Group is investing in relationships to Volkswagen—November 22, 2001

The Stuttgarter MAHLE Group wants to further extend its relationship to the Volkswagen Group by establishing an Engineering and Sales Office in Wolfsburg.

For this reason MAHLE moved into extensive offices on the Wolfsburger VW grounds in Wolfsburg-Fallersleben with an expanse of ca. 150 sq m. at the start of the new model year. With this, all future activities of the business units of Pistons and Engine Components, Filter Systems and Valve Train Systems, can be centrally coordinated with the VW group. The new MAHLE workstations in Wolfsburg are also technologically connected to VW logistics, using the most modern CAD workstations for the MAHLE engineers' development work directly on location, among others.

The MAHLE team in Wolfsburg consists of a total of 6 employees, 5 engineers and sales staff, as well as a team assistance.

As a long-standing Volkswagen AG supplier and development partner, we want to further improve the trusted cooperation with VW once again through our presence in Wolfsburg, and to shorten and optimize the communication channels between Volkswagen and the MAHLE Group“, emphasizes Prof. Dr. Heinz K. Junker, Chairman of the MAHLE board of management as being the aim of the new MAHLE representation in the VW-City.

MAHLE is one of the world's largest motor vehicle suppliers for engine components such as pistons, valves, camshafts, and filter systems. In the area of pistons and engine components, the MAHLE Group, with a 25 percent market-share, is even the world market leader. Through the partnership with Tennex, Japan, MAHLE became the largest motor vehicle filter supplier in the world. The MAHLE Group, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, employs 28,000 employees world-wide in a total of 52 locations in over 20 countries, and expects a total turnover of over 2,8 billion Euro in the 2001 financial year.
