MAHLE has performed research and development in the People’s Republic of China since 2006. About 290 R&D employees work in a facility larger than two soccer fields. The product development projects address piston systems, cylinder components, valve train systems, and management of air, fuel, and oil, as well as industrial filtration.

Following its third expansion, the research and development center now boasts more than 35,000 square meters of office, laboratory, and test bench space, making it the largest MAHLE Tech Center in Asia.
