MAHLE wins the Innovators Prize at the Eurobike 2022 bike and future mobility trade fair. A jury consisting of experts from industry and media as well as experts outside of the industry crowned the innovative X20 drive system of the E-Bike-division of the automotive supplier from Stuttgart the winner in the “Components” category. It is the lightest drive system on the market. The technology company is presenting this innovation and other solutions for gravel, road, and urban bikes including HMI and connectivity at Eurobike, which takes place from 13th to 17th of July in Frankfurt/Main (Hall F18 and exhibition areas F12, G24).

At only 3.2 kg, the award-winning MAHLE X20 is the lightest drive system on the market.

“The X20 rings in a new era, because we are combining a lightweight design with aesthetics and customization in an unprecedented drive solution. We are proud and pleased to be able to present this innovation to our customers as well as all bike enthusiasts here in Frankfurt,” says Jochen Sommer, Head of MAHLE SmartBike Systems.

The innovative X20 system weighs only 3.2 kg, including the 1.4 kg drive unit, the integrated battery, and the HMI. This makes it the new gold standard in terms of the weight/performance ratio of e-bike drives. The drive delivers 23 Newton meters directly to the wheel — this performance is comparable to that of a mid-drive motor with 55 Newton meters of torque. Bike enthusiasts can experience the lightweight X20 electric motor directly in the exhibition area.

MAHLE is also showcasing its full range of smart accessories at Eurobike, such as the new e185 range extender. It is the perfect solution for bicycle adventurers who want to enjoy even more liberty on the road, as well as the new active charger, which charges batteries even faster and better than the solutions currently available on the market.
